CLASSES FOR CHILDREN

Sunday School Schedule, School Year 2007 – 2008

           Pre-school – Room 304, 9:00 & 10:30 a.m., 3 - 5 years (if potty trained).
          Kindergarten to 2nd Grade – Room 305, 9:00 & 10:30 a.m.
          3rd to 6th Grade – Room 205, 9:00 a.m.
          3rd Grade – Room 205, 10:30 a.m.
          4th to 6th Grade – Room 306, 10:30 a.m.
          Junior High (7th and 8th Grade) – Room 208, 10:30 a.m.
          Senior High (9th to 12th Grade) – Room 206, 10:30 a.m.

Preschool – Our volunteer preschool teachers are working with the "Exploring Faith"
Cokesbury curriculum.
Kindergarten and Second Grade – Students will learn about God with volunteer teachers
trained in Rev. Dr. Jerome W. Berryman’s "Godly Play".
Third to Sixth Grade (9:00 a.m.) and Third Grade (10:30 a.m.) –
"Bible Beginnings" is a new curriculum involving our volunteer teachers and your child’s
imagination as they walk through the Bible together.
Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Grade – The children in this class will follow their "Faith Journey".
Divided into ancient Bible time civilizations, each team decides whether to complete tasks
for their civilizations’ survival or to follow God.

Acolyte – 4th grader and up may be acolytes during the 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Worship services.

Arvada Voices – 3rd through 6th graders are invited to be a part of the Children’s Choir. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. in room 209. For more information, please contact Heidi Abel at (303) 421-5135.

Bible Beginnings & Presentation – 3rd through 6th graders are presented with an NRSV Bible as a gift from the church and then attend a special program to introduce them to their new Bible on Sunday, September 16, 2007.

Christmas Pageant – Kindergarten through Senior High are invited to participate in the pageant. The 4 & 5 year olds will make short appearances (usually as sheep or angels) and to sing along with the rest of the church children and youth. Practices are on Saturday mornings beginning in November. The Christmas Pageant is at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2007.

Super Sundays – Children’s Christian education and fellowship program for 3rd through 6th graders. The first meeting is Sunday, September 23, from 11:45 a.m - 1:30 p.m. in room 209.

Vacation Church School - Children, ages 4 years through 5th grade (6th grade in the fall) are invited to join us next summer, July 14 - 18. It will be a week filled with storytelling, games, snacks, crafts, and music focused on God’s love.
