Biography of Andrea Pinegar, Director of Children's and Youth Ministries

Andrea Pinegar was born in Massachusetts and grew up in Colorado Springs.  She attended a very conservative non-denominational church, Woodman Valley Chapel, throughout her childhood.  She continued to attend Youth Group and began working in the nursery when she was 18 years old.

Andrea moved to Arvada in 2004 to be closer to her present husband Scott Pinegar, an Earth Science and Astrophysics teacher at Pomona High School.  Scott and Andrea joined Arvada United Methodist Church in November of 2004, and were married by Reverend Jenny Arfmann in the Spring of 2005.

Andrea is in the process of completing her undergraduate degree in Communication through the University of Colorado.  She was hired as the Arvada United Methodist Sunday School Director in April of 2005, became a Youth sponsor at the beginning of 2006, and was asked to add the interim Youth Director to her duties while Jessica Rooks was on maternity leave in 2006.  Andrea became the Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries in July 2006.

Andrea feels that she has “fallen into her dream job."  She is considering attending Iliff School of Theology in the future to get her Masters of Arts in Specialized Ministry.  Currently Andrea is working very hard at building strong Children’s and Youth Ministries at Arvada UMC!
